Skool and Ultimate
Ultimate is going way better than I anticipated. I was expecting an experience that wouldn't come close to my time with Churchill Ultimate, although it hasn't matched that, it has come pretty close. I don't want to be conceited butI'm one of the better players on the team. Yesterday at practice I got three hand blocks, which might have doubled the number of hand blocks I've gotten in my life. Last week I did a "greatest" in the endzone. I have acquired a lot of respect and disdain at the same time. I sense that some of the veteran players feel threatened by me and the level of play I'm bringing my first year of college ultimate. There are still quite a few players on the team that I feel are better than me, but most of the players, including some veterans are below my skill level. I don't really know how to handle that. I want to be their friends, but I don't want to be friendly while they are threatened because I wouldn't want that if I were in their shoes. So, I will remain as humble as possible on the field while still playing to my full potential. Oh yeah, I'm going to be a handler for the team, which is strange for me, who used to play under Daniel, Collin, Andrew, Peter QB, Jay, and the underclassmen who could control the disc better than me. We'll see how this goes. I'm kinda excited for my role on the team in the next several years.

sounds like you are having an awesome time, mostly outside the classroom? That's too bad that your classes are so big/online. yikes... I can't imagine. That really would be intimidating to ask questions. My calc class is... pretty much the same size as my high school calc class was. maybe... 38 people? What class are you taking online? Does that mean you don't even have a professor?
How are your Engineering classes coming? I'm in Engineering 101 (which is basically an introduction to engineering design) and Engineering 181 (which is a computer class, dedicated to teaching us to use AutoCAD). In 101 we're in the 4th week of our first project. We got assigned a client from the community, who had some sort of disability, and we're designing something they needed to help them in a certain area. It's cool, because it's not too hard, but we're learning the basics of the design process, and we are actually helping a real person while we're at it. 181 is a 3 hour lab block, once a week. the prof lectures usually for the first hour, then we get our picture assignments out of the book, and basically just have to make them in AutoCAD. It's kinda fun, but this last assignment took me... about 8 hours. maybe more. ahhhh! However, you get quite a feeling of accomplishment when it's all been completed.
Hearing you talk about ultimate makes me miss watch the CHS team. ahh... good memories.

Wow! 250 kids in a lecture? My math has about 100, and my bio only 150 (well, not ONLY that many, but it still is fewer than 250).
I'm really happy to hear you're playing handler! Me too, and I have the same dilemma as you much of the time, that I'm better than some of the vets. It's really frustrating when some of the vets try to tell you to do something that you already know how to do. I play O-line most of the time, and get put in as a handler almost all the time. Just like you! Hoorah.
Maybe I'll take pics of my lecture classes sometime.

Hey Greg, glad to hear things are going well for Ultimate. Your plan of action seems extremely appropriate and don't get discouraged, you are too cool of a guy. Classes will come and I know that as you work your way into more advanced classes that they will get smaller. Best of luck.

I know what you mean about the ultimate thing. I actually had to stop trying by like half my ability just to make it a little more fair while still pushing the other players to get better. In a none invasive way. I am the youngest girl on the team and the best by far. There is one girl that is really good, and we have fantastic connections. Plus she actually understands the game. One of about 4.

My chem class has about 35 and my math class has about 20. Suck on that ivy league. (just kiddin)
However I must admit that my philosophy class has too many people. There are around 25-30 and it's tough to have a good discussion without someone being dumb or.
Anyway, way to go with ultimate. Everyone here already expected Jeremy and I to come in and be really good, so it's not awkward or anything. Jeremy is pretty much a team leader already. He seems to be about the second in command.
